Dorothy Justus

Dorothy M. Justus, age 96, of Portage, MI passed away Monday evening, August 14, 2017, surrounded by loving family members. Dorothy was born January 13, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Murphy) Dausch. A 1938 graduate of South Hills High School, Dorothy made her home in Pittsburgh for 70 years. On December 26, 1942 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Howard G. Justus who preceded her in death in 1974. Dorothy was also preceded in death by a son, George Justus; a grandson, Jim McGough; a great-grandson, Dante Latora; and four brothers, Cyril, Gilbert, Francis, and Jack. Dorothy was a devout Catholic and family was always the focus of her life. She was the devoted mother to her surviving children, Margaret "Peggy" (Ray) McGough, Donna (Don) Pierotta, William (Sandra) Justus, David (Laura) Justus; daughter-in-law, Diane Schelb; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 5-8pm Thursday, August 17 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm Friday, August 18 at St. Catherine of Siena, 1150 W. Centre. Private interment will be held at a later date in Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sisters of St. Joseph of Pittsburgh, 1020 W. State St., Baden, PA 15005 or Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
