Harper, Dorothy McGorrisk "Mops"

Leaving a legacy of 75 family members and many family pets, Dorothy "Mops" Harper passed peacefully on Wednesday, Nov 11, 2015. With a smile on her face she went to heaven to join her beloved husband of 58 years, Jackson, and one of her sons, Tom. Dear mother of Mary Beth (Holger) Petersen, Randy (Rose) Harper, Jackie Harper, Susie (Mike) Spurgeon,Tom (Lynn) Harper, Sally (Mike) Walitsch, Theresa (Matt Valeriote) Harper, and Rich (Patti) Harper. Proud grandmother of 24 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 20 great-grandchildren with 2 more great-grandchildren on the way. Dear sister of Anne McGorrisk Johnstone. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Mops had eight favorite children among her 8 children along with her love of many doggies and grand-doggies. Mops was a graduate of the University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana, an avid reader, an enthusiastic football and baseball fan, and had a keen interest in current events. Her sweet character, wise counsel, caring nature, and friendly smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Prayer Service 2:00 PM Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Chapel of St. John the Evangelist at St. John’s On the Lake 1840 N. Prospect Ave Milwaukee, WI 53202. Visitation will follow the prayer service until 4:00 PM
