Dorothy Davis

It is with sadness that our family announces the death of our mother, Dorothy Lois Davis. She passed away peacefully on January 21, 2019 in Twinsburg, Ohio. Lois was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 16, (Y.O.B. omitted as she would have wished) to Isaiah James and Rose Helmer Meyers. Lois graduated from The University of Toledo with a degree in Business and worked for IBM. In 1948, she married Robert Ross Davis also of Toledo, Ohio. Lois and Robert moved to Bay Village Ohio in 1958 then to Kalamazoo Michigan in 1969. Lois remained in Kalamazoo until 2010. She then moved to Twinsburg, Ohio to be closer to some of her children. Lois will always be remembered for her enthusiastic energy and adventurous spirit. Some of her many contributions and activities were: Special Olympics, Golf Club, Garden Club, Bridge Club, Meals on Wheels, extensive traveling, school volunteer, St. Augustine's Church, Jacobson's, Pi Beta Phi Alumni, and Junior League. Lois is survived by her 7 children- Robert Ashton (Jean Robinson) Davis, Peter Ross (Ellen) Davis, Brian James (Gail) Davis, Darby Davis (James) Sankey, Carolyn Davis (Darin) Bensel, Peggy Davis (David) Groll, Thomas O'Neil Davis (TOD), 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many, many dear friends. She was preceded in her death by her husband Robert Ross Davis (Bulldog) in 1988. Please keep us in your thoughts as we celebrate our Mom and the wonderful memories she has left us with. We imagine heaven is the place where "Loie and Bulldog" are dancing and hitting the perfect Tee shot, together, again. No calling hours. Cremation has been held. A Family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Final resting place in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
