Dylhoff, Doris E. Kalamazoo, MI Formerly of Gobles, MI Doris Elaine Dylhoff died Monday, December 28, 2020, and went to be with her Lord. She was born November 11, 1928 in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of Robert and Alice (Dekema) Howe. Doris' first husband, Larry Smith, was killed in action in Korea shortly after their marriage. Doris remained very close to Larry's parents, Virgil and Jenny Smith, throughout their lives. On November 21, 1952, Doris married Harold E. Dylhoff who preceded her in death on July 3, 2007. Doris retired from the City of Kalamazoo where she was employed in the Water Department. Upon retirement she and her late husband spent the winter months in Mesa, AZ, where they enjoyed travel and pursuing their many hobbies. Doris was very artistic, and in addition to work and caring for family, she enjoyed crafts such as china painting, wood working, needle point, crocheting, and knitting. Doris was very loving and generous, always giving of herself to family, friends, and her church. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jean Thayer. Doris is survived by her children, Barbara (Harry) Jepkema of Green Valley, AZ, Bradley Dylhoff of Villa Park, IL, Brian (Kari) Dylhoff of Kalamazoo, and Randy (Lynna) Dylhoff of Paw Paw; grandchildren, Lauren (Josh) Brady, Jennifer Dylhoff, Jake (Jessika) Dylhoff, Jerad (Katie) Dylhoff, Joe (Jessica) Dylhoff, and Ivan (Heidi) Dylhoff; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Julia Dylhoff; and nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, and private burial will take place in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
