Donna Newcomb

Donna J. Newcomb, age 88, of Portage, MI passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3rd, 2018 surrounded by her family. Donna was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI and graduated from St. Joseph and Kalamazoo Central Schools. She met the love of her life, William, when she was 17. She worked her magic on him at the diner where they worked together, and they fell in love. They were married and had four lovely children: Mike, Nancy, Judy, and Tom. William and Donna were married 69 years on June 4th, 2018. She worked as a sales clerk, but what she loved most was being a homemaker.

Donna loved to play cards, crochet, ceramics, crafts, and go camping. She and William traveled more during their later years, and especially loved to go out west. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid roller skater and dancer when she was younger. Donna loved going out to her mother’s lake lot, Little Long Lake in Delton.

Donna was a very generous and giving person and would take anyone in that was in need. She will forever be remembered and missed by all who knew her.

Donna’s family includes her children: Nancy (David) Brown, Judy (Gene) Morse, Tom (Teresa) Newcomb; grandchildren: Veronica (John) Brueck, Marc Morse, Amy (Chris) Gray, Ryan (Nikki) Newcomb, Charlie Newcomb , Eric (Lindsay) Newcomb, and David "Andy" (Tina) Brown; great grandchildren: Zachery, Chloe and Tyler Brueck, Olivia, Sophia and Brody Newcomb, Keegan and Kendall Gray, Madison Morse, Nelson and Lilly Morse; great great grandchildren: Penelope Morse and Atticus Morse; siblings: Richard (Barbara) Wade and Wanda Buhler. Donna is preceded in death by her loving husband: William Newcomb; son: Michael Newcomb; and grandson: Shawn Morse.
