Donald Eugene Sinkler, age 79, of Hartford, MI went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, May 19, 2017 at his home under Hospice care. He was born July 25, 1937 to Murray and Thelma (Warren) Sinkler in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Donald honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a machinist for Buck Chuck in Kalamazoo for 34 years before his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 362 in Coloma and the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. Donald is preceded in death along with his parents by his granddaughter Melissa Dill, brother Robert Sinkler, sisters Connie Sinkler, Dolly Falls, Beverly Starr, and two son-in-laws Jeffrey Ver Sluis and Mark Nehmer. Donald is survived by his children Sharon Sinkler of Hartford, Ronald Sinkler of Hartford, Barbara Ver Sluis of Plainwell, Cheryl (Jeremy) Matney of Hooppole, Illinois, and Michael (Jennifer) Sinkler of Lawrence, sister Linda Jones-Newnum, brother Terry Sinkler, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his former wife of 45 years, Anna Sinkler, who he remained friends with. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating. Donald will be laid to rest at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Garden.
