Donald Selles

Selles, Donald G. Battle Creek, Michigan Donald G. Selles, age 82 of Battle Creek, died following an automobile accident in Arizona on March 11, 2019. Don was born February 8, 1937 in Grand Rapids. He was the son of Reverend Albert & Trena Selles, missionaries in China from 1926-1949, where Don spent much of his childhood. His time spent there impacted Don's whole life and the ministry and China were forever on his heart. Don retired as an underwriter from State Farm Insurance. He was a member of Comstock Christian Reformed Church. He is survived by his three sons and one daughter, Roger (Chris) Selles, Kurt (Vicki) Selles, Scott (Cherie) Selles and Amy (Denny Count) Selles; twelve grandchildren: Gunner, Rugar, Andy, Eric, Molly, Hannah, Owen (McKenzie Kramer), Chloe, Joe, Sam, Trena and Sarah; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Will (Sharon) VanWyhe, Marvin (Lyn) VanWyhe, Albertha (Darrell) Gildemeister, Sherm Dornbush, Muriel (Bill) Plooster, and Margaret VanWyhe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Janet Selles in 2015. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway, Kalamazoo, MI 49048. The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Comstock Christian Reformed Church, 5300 Comstock Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49048, with Rev. Dan Brouwer officiating.
