The family of Donald Robert Russon of Portage, Michigan is saddened to announce his passing at his home on Saturday November 7, 2020 at the age of 77 years. He leaves his wife and love of his life of 54 years, Diane (Knight) Russon; son Raymond (Ray) M. Russon and wife Christine; son Randall( Randy) Russon and wife Karen; grandchildren Heather, Amie, Rachel and Patrick; brother Raymond A Russon; sister Jenny (Russon) Stuut; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth (Russon) Priest. Donald, son of Arthur Russon and Betty (Stratton) Russon, was born July 22, 1943 at Borgess hospital. Donald spent his childhood and early adult years in Comstock. As a child he loved to explore the fields and ponds in the area. He also he opened a successful salon in Comstock when he was 22. He joined the Army Reserves and became a medic during the Vietnam war. In 1966, Donald married Diane Knight. In 1968 they welcomed their son Ray and in 1971 their son Randy. After starting his family, Donald became a chemical operator at the Upjohn Company until his retirement. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering in his garage, and going to flea markets. He loved to create new things from the old things he found at flea markets and garage sales. He passed on his love of antiques and their collection to his children and grandchildren as well as his unique creativity. While his family will miss him greatly, they take comfort in remembering the good times and all that was special about him. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held in the future.
