Wolff, Dolores M. Kalamazoo Dolores Mary Wolff of Mattawan, MI, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, April 19, 2020 in Otsego, MI at the age of 90 years old. She was born November 11, 1929 in Texas Township, MI, and was the youngest daughter of John and Margaret (Stiglich) Gregurich. As a young girl, Dolores took tap dancing lessons and helped out on the family farm. She attended Mattawan School where she was on the baton cheer squad. This is where she met many lifelong friends as well as her future husband, Patrick (Pat) Joseph Wolff. She graduated in 1948 and worked and lived in downtown Kalamazoo for a short time before marrying Pat on November 11, 1950, her twenty-first birthday. They started their married life together living with Dolores' parents and soon after started working on their large family. During these first few years, Pat began to build a house nearby, which Dolores made into a loving home for their growing family. Faith and family were at the center of Dolores' life. She and Pat became members of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in 1953, where she served on the St. Rita's Guild. She spent many hours helping to prepare meals for countless church celebrations as well as helping in the parish office. Pat also built a cabin on the Pere Marquette river where the family spent many hours over the years. They belonged to a German dance club and enjoyed entertaining their friends and extended families both in their home and at their cabin. After the untimely passing of her husband on December 13, 1978, she seamlessly took over as the head of the family. Soon afterward she returned to work and eventually became a teller at the Kalamazoo County State Bank in Mattawan until her well deserved retirement in 1993. She enjoyed reading, watching the birds in her yard, cooking and baking, playing Scrabble and card games, and working crossword puzzles. While Dolores enjoyed traveling, especially a trip to Hawaii, she was never more content than when she was at home spending time with her children. She loved each of them equally, while at the same time instinctively knowing their individual needs, making them all feel special in her eyes. Becoming a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. Her house was the center of family gatherings and she was the heart of it. She was able to continue on and share her caring nature and motherly instincts with others as she entered the final phase of her life at Vicinia Gardens. Dolores was humble, kind, and easy to forgive. She showed compassion, care and understanding in her unassuming and quiet way. Teaching by example, she instilled in her children the importance of family and the immeasurable strength derived from it. Dolores is reunited in death with her loving husband, Patrick Joseph Wolff, her parents John and Margaret (Stiglich) Gregurich, brother Albert Gregurich, and sister Frances (Gregurich) Lochart. She will be remembered by her loving children: son Erwin (Arlene) Wolff of Mattawan, MI, son Gregory Wolff of Kalamazoo, MI, daughter Teresa (Joseph) Urnowey of Mattawan, MI, daughter Karen Wolff of Kalamazoo, MI, daughter Pamela (Larry) McKee of Mattawan, MI, son Victor (Patricia) Wolff of Marquette, MI, son Kevin Wolff of Plainwell, MI, daughter Melissa (Steven) Hock of Otsego, MI, daughter Lisa Wolff of Grand Rapids, MI, son Eric (Tina) Wolff of Lakewood, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kyle (Brianne) McKee, Kurt McKee, Jessica (Chad) Moore, Madolyn Hock, Cody Wolff, Morgan Janke-Wolff, Broderick Wolff; great-granddaughter Everly Moore; and nephew Mark (Karen) Lochart. Many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends both old and new. A private family service took place on Thursday, April 23, 2020 where her ten children prayed together and shared memories, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Dolores was laid to eternal rest beside her long awaiting husband at Mt. Olivet Diocesan Catholic Cemetery. A mass and memorial celebration of Dolores' life will take place at a later date. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring staff of Vicinia Gardens of Otsego, and to Dolores' dedicated team from Kindred Hospice. All their loving and constant care was a great comfort to Dolores and her family. Due to the current situation the family was not able to receive flowers at the funeral home and asks for memorial contributions in Dolores' name to go to Kindred Hospice, formerly known as Southern Care Hospice.
