Dolores Miller

Dolores Miller, 95, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2019. She was born August 21, 1924 in Menomonee Falls, WI to the late Gerald and Elsie (Seibt) Otto. Dolores received her Master's in Dietetics from University of Wisconsin Madison in 1950 and became a registered dietitian. She was united in marriage to Dr. William L. Miller, Jr., on August 9, 1952. Dolores had a lifetime of service to her family and the Kalamazoo community. She served with a focus on caring for others, excellence in everything she accomplished, and encouraged others to do the same. Among her professional positions, Dolores was the Director of Women, Infants and Children program at the Kalamazoo Family Health Center and taught nutrition at Nazareth College. Dolores found time to enjoy life by expressing her creativity through flower arranging, gardening, cooking, and painting. She will be forever remembered for the countless hours she spent nurturing her grandchildren. Dolores is survived by her husband, Dr. William L. Miller, Jr.; children, Christina Plooster, Stanford (Joanne) Miller and Constance (Peter) Livingston; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Arliss Lohmiller and Janis Nielsen; and many nieces and nephews. Services are entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. A private memorial service and interment at Ft. Custer National Cemetery will both take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed in her name to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts or the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.
