Heidanus, Dolores 7/23/1929 - 12/18/2020 Kalamazoo Dolores S. Heidanus July 23, 1929 – December 18, 2020 Her loving family: Cheri Priddy (Gary), Rhonda Louallen (Billy), Greg Keb (Jill) and grandchildren: Jacob, Ben, Amy, Christopher, Gabrielle, and 5 great-grandchildren. She took us to church and taught us about Jesus. We knew she was praying for us and she always said, "I love you." Dolores will be remembered for her generosity and hospitality. She was wise, kind, and had a heart full of love. Now she is Home and healthy. Dolores became Grandma Heidi with the birth of her first grandchild and she was the best. She always had time for sleep-overs or helping us out of a jam. She attended our band concerts, boy-scout events, dance recitals, horse competitions, and she was the best shopping buddy ever. She enjoyed taking trips, especially spending winters in Hawaii, going to Chicago and Traverse City, taking cruises and playing cards, golfing, and going out to eat with friends and family. She was very active at First United Methodist Church, loved teaching children and adults alike through creative puppet ministry, and was honored by Loaves and Fishes for 35 years of service. She shared wonderful stories of her many jobs and hobbies, including working at The Museum of Science and Industry, managing at Lerner's and Houseman's, teaching adult swimming classes, performing as a synchronized swimmer, and teaching etiquette and modeling to young women. Her Grandma Stahmer taught her about God and the gift of His Son Jesus, her Savior. She recorded this in a journal and said, "Without this belief, we cannot become who God wants us to be. It is this faith which has sustained me." And this same faith shall sustain us until we meet again. Services will be held at a later date.
