Dee passed away surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home in Plainwell. She was born July 5, 1940 in Allegan, the daughter of Clarence and Doris (Slater) Hinkle. Dee enjoyed sewing, making matching outfits for the kids in her family, camping, canning, horseback riding and playing board games and card games especially Skip-Bo. She spent the winters in Texas and liked visiting Mexico. Dee was a long time member of Plainwell First United Methodist Church. On March 21, 1959, in Allegan she married Donald Clawson who passed away in 2014. Surviving are her children, Dorrian "Rian" (Lydia) Clawson of Arizona, Rebecca "Becky" (Russell) Deaton of Otsego and Dorrinda "Rindi" Lee Clawson of Plainwell; 5 grandchildren, Kelly (Dan) Kursinsky, Russ (Erin) Deaton, Anthony Santiago, Amanda (Brian) Singleton and Rianna Lee Clawson; 4 great-grandchildren, Andrew (Lydia) and Jordan Kursinsky; Avery Cross and Finley Deaton; her sisters, Sheila (William) Johnson and Shirley Lynn; several special nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; great caregiver, Brenden Stanley; best friend, Kallen Brossia and special caregiver, Samantha Brossia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Jeffrey L. Clawson and granddaughter, Amy Jo Deaton. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Greg Carlson and the staff at Wings of Hope Hospice for their care and support. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with Dee's family starting at 3 PM, Monday, November 8, 2021 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, until the time of the memorial service at 4:00 P.M., with Pastor Greg Carlson officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Dee may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice, American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
