Dobrila Dikanovic, age 85, of Racine, Wisconsin, passed from this earth and was born to eternal life in heaven, joining Our Lord, Jesus Christ and her husband Mirko on November 18.

Dobrila was born in Pristina, Serbia on July 3, 1932, the child of Spira and Guppi Vuckovic. She was preceded in death by her husband Mirko Dikanovic, her parents and her two brothers Petar and Dimitrije. She is survived by her son, Pete (Luanne) Dikanovic and by her grandchildren Allison and Sam Dikanovic as well as nephews, Kumovi and friends.

She came to the United States in 1962 and was united in marriage to Mirko Dikanovic who preceded her in death, July 16, 1995. She was a longtime parishioner of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church on State Street. Dobrila was employed by Rainfair as a seamstress for many years. She loved to garden, bake, sew and knit, she was very proud of her vegetable garden. She also enjoyed coffee clutching with friends and watching sporting events. But what brought her greatest joy was spending cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Pete (Luanne) Dikanovic of Racine and their children, Allison and Sam; other relatives, kumovi and dear friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church on State St in Racine, Wisconsin. Additionally, her son (Pete) would like to thank ALL the caregivers at Ridgewood Care Center, whose caring staff helped bring peace, comfort, and grace to last year on earth.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with Mali Pomen (short memorial) service at 4:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 27, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 826 State Street, with Fr. Dragan Mitrovic officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park, Oak Creek. The family invites all of Dobrila’s friends and relatives to join them for a luncheon at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church following the funeral.
