Diane Barker

Barker, Diane L. Alamo Township, MI Diane passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born August 13, 1946 in Vicksburg, the daughter of Lloyd and Nellie (Russell) Franks. Diane had owned and operated a beauty shop in Otsego, had worked at Borgess Hospital and recently made and sold necklaces. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crafts, knitting hats for the homeless, making jewelry, and helping with the children's ministries at her church. Diane loved her family very much. Her husband, children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. In 1965 at the First Congregational Church of Otsego, she married James Barker who survives. Also surviving are her children, Jaimie (Brian) Miller of Gobles and Rob (Stephanie) Barker of Arlington, TX; 5 grandchildren, Britni VanCuran, Asher Barker, Seth Barker, Nicole Cooley and Ben Miller; many siblings; brother-in-law, Bill Barker along with many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may visit with Diane's family from 2-5 P.M., Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Monday, February 5, 2018 with Pastor Dar VanderWal officiating.
