Dennis Conwell, age 74, of Kankakee, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee. Dennis was born on October 10, 1939 in Belvidere, IL, the son of Joe and Ruth (Kerns) Conwell. He married the former Bonnie Bowley on February 13, 1960 in Belvidere, IL. He worked for Aqua Illinois for 30 years before his retirement in 1997. He retired as Vice President of Aqua’s office in Park Forest, IL. He enjoyed golfing, horses and spending time with his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie of Kankakee; one daughter, Candace (Brian) Lezak; one son, Kelly (Jennifer) Conwell; grandchildren, Matt, Rachel, Grace and Claire; one brother, Tom Conwell; one sister, Marcia Henneberry and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering for Dennis will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home’s Kankakee Chapel. Cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the grandchildren’s trust fund, Post Time Fund at Farmer’s State Bank, Aroma Park.
