David passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Specialty Select Hospital – Downriver, Wyandotte, MI. He was born September 13, 1966, in Kalamazoo, to John E. and Jo Ann (Orbeck) Klok. He was a longtime resident of Pine Lake, Plainwell. David worked for several years as an environmental abatement inspector, dealing in environmental toxin testing and removal, and most recently, at the Home Depot in Plainwell. David was a graduate of Loy Norix high school where he was a member of the Master Choir and the golf team, and of the University of Michigan where he was a member of the U of M Choir. He was an avid University of Michigan fan. He enjoyed a wide variety of spectator sports, participating in lake activities, skiing and boating, golf, downhill skiing, and all things maize and blue. He had a particularly keen mind for remembering and recalling events and sharing his memories with others. David was a member of Second Reformed Church in Kalamazoo, where for several years he sang in the choir. He took part in four mission trips with his parents and Living Hope Missions to build schools in Haiti, including the Klok School of Limonade, Haiti. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jo, and grandparents, Garrett and Sarah Klok and Garret and Grace Orbeck. Surviving are his father, John and Mary (Schrader) Klok of Kalamazoo, MI; brother, Alan and Donna Klok of Peru, IN; sister, Kathleen and Ed Dolinar of Evanston, IL; nieces, Elizabeth and Charlotte Knipp. David was also blessed with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and step-nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by his special friend, Christine Johnson and his many friends and neighbors. A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 28, at Second Reformed Church, 2323 Stadium Drive, with the Rev. Kevin Hart officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
