David Julian

David Julian , 53, of Alpena, died Friday January 27, 2012 following a brief courageous battle with cancer. Dave was surrounded by his devoted family.

Dave was born October 23, 1958 in Alpena to Walter and Ruth Julian. He graduate from Ferris State with a degree In Criminal Justice and went on to serve with the Bay City police department for 20 years. He served in the capacity of sergeant and detective as well as a member of the SWAT team. Dave was a construction superintendant for the last 10 years. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting as well as watching sports with his two step sons. Always eager to offer a sincere ear to all people, Dave’s respect for everyone around him was something to be admired. Dave was a positive, loving influence for his nieces, nephews and step sons. A loving brother and son, his gentle patience and subtle charm will be greatly missed by everyone who was privileged to know him.

Surviving are his wife, Jolie, two step sons; Casey and Logan, mother ; Ruth, four bossy sisters; Susan (Tim) Fitzpatrick of Alpena, Sandra (Justin) Michael of Grand Rapids, Sally (Dan) Bruski of Posen and twin sister Diane (Howard) Barsen also of Posen. He was preceded in death by his father Walter.

Dave is at McWilliams Funeral Home in Alpena. Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 – 8:00 pm and on Monday, January 30th, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am at Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev.
