Darlene Kay Prott, “Toots”, age 72, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Luke’s Medical Center Milwaukee. She was born in Racine, April 11, 1945, daughter of the late Cyrus and Catherine (Nee:Flary) Monty.

Darlene graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1963.” On October 23, 1965 at Evangelical United Methodist Church she was united in marriage to Alan P. Prott who preceded her in death September 5, 2016. Darlene was employed as a cake decorator for Lehman’s Bakery and then for Randall’s Country Market where she retired in 2004. In retirement she and Alan moved to Presque Isle, WI where she was a member of the American Legion Post #480 Auxiliary, the Lioness Club and the Red Hat Society. Returning to Racine she became a member of Franksville United Methodist Church. Darlene enjoyed baking, gardening, scrapbooking. Above all she treasured time spent with her family especially her granddaughter, “Her pride and joy” Mikayla. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, David (Kim) Prott, Donna (Glenn) Chapman; her granddaughter, Mikayla Lee Prott (fiancé Justin Schowalter); god-son, Adam Prott; goddaughter, Cathy Jacobs; special nieces, Pat McGinnnis, Becky Bower, and Joan Monty; her dearest friend, Ingrid Argstattler; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Ruth (Leslie “Red”) Bower and her brother, Leroy (Edith “Rusty”) Monty.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, 2018, 10:00 A.M. at Faithbridge Church, Franksville, 10402 Northwestern Avenue, with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. and Monday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Wheaton Franciscan in Franklin and St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee for their loving and compassionate care.
