Daniel Lee Walberer left us in this physical world suddenly but will be forever in our hearts at the age of 68 on December 7, 2018 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dan was born September 15, 1950 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Ruth and John Walberer. Dan was the youngest of five consisting of three older brothers and his one surviving sister Mary Ann Kantz. Dan attended St. Thomas the Apostle elementary school graduating in 1964, then to Catholic Central High School graduating in 1968. Dan pursued psychology at Western Michigan University for his undergraduate, graduating in 1972. He then went on to get his Doctorate from Western Michigan University graduating in 1992 with honors. He has worked in his private practice for 26 years as a Clinical Psychologist specializing in chronic pain. He was very passionate about his job and he helped hundreds of people manage and live a life around the pain. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and John Walberer. His brothers Charles Walberer (Mary Ellen), Thomas Walberer, James Walberer. He is survived by his sister Mary Ann Kantz (Cliff); in-laws Julie Walberer, Sue Holt Walberer; nieces and nephews Susan Skogseth (Tom), Jim Walberer, Tom Walberer, Jon Walberer. Melissa Walters (Jacob), TJ Walberer (Deanna), Megan Walberer, Mike Walberer (Joann), Betsy Syrek (Kevin), Andrew Walberer (Jani), Anne Simmons (Gregg), Jennifer Tolonen, Christine McClellan. Dan was a warm generous man that devoted his life to helping people feel better. He did this through his work, through his friendships and through his care for his family. Dan was a very inclusive person and it is evidenced by the family that loved him and the close friendships that were full of love and laughter. Everywhere Dan was, he made lifelong friendships. Dan loved to be active. He was a valued member of a ski patrol which was a very important part of his life. He loved travel, bourbon and concerts. He loved old things.. old houses.. antiques and books. He was very prudent on keeping his family that had passed away close to him with his paper trail of their lives. Dan will be truly missed by many.
