Daniel Brennan

Daniel J. "J.D." Brennan, age 69, of Sarasota, FL died on April 7, 2017. Dan was a long time resident of Sarasota, FL. He was intellectually curious, a voracious reader, and an accomplished golfer. He loved music and regularly attended the Sarasota symphony. He was a graduate of Loy Norrix H.S., University of Michigan and the University of Detroit School of Law. He was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. Among his decorations and awards are the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He is survived by his siblings, John (Cynthia) Brennan of Kalamazoo; Pamela Brennan of VA; step-father, Kirk Newman of Kalamazoo; nieces, Amy (Ed) Leasure of FL and Kortnee Berkheiser of Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his father, Maj. (Ret.) John Brennan; mother, Georgia Newman; sister, Susan Newman and nephew, John Brennan. Internment with military honors has taken place at Sarasota National Cemetery, FL. Memorial contributions can be made to Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, FL.
