Curt VandeVorde

Curt Richard VandeVorde, son of Richard (deceased) and Beverly, passed away suddenly on June 11th in Oscoda, Michigan at the age of 61. Curt was born on November 13th, 1955 in Kalamazoo, MI. He attended Alma College where he earned a BA in business. He later attended Wayne State University where he earned his Masters degree in Finance. In the late 1970s Curt moved to the Metro Detroit/Grosse Pointe area to pursue his career. He worked at Comerica Bank for nearly a decade as a personal banker. In 1994, on Valentine's Day, he started his own Insurance brokerage called cynoSure Financial, Inc. His company specializes in providing warranties and product enhancement benefits and services to the automotive, credit card and banking industry. A true pioneer within the market, Curt has worked with dozens of Fortune 500 companies including General Motors, Chrysler, American Express and Ebay. Curt loved reading, working on cross-word puzzles, playing Euchre, watching movies, flying kites at his cottage in Oscoda and most of all spending time with his family. A kind, brilliant, compassionate man, Curt is survived by his loving wife Pamela, Mother Beverly, Siblings Lori Rivard (husband Chris), Scott VandeVorde (wife Lisa) Julie Prentice and Lynne Kealy (deceased) Sons Eric (wife Tracy) and Brad, daughter Bethany, step son's Jonathan (wife Deanna) and Brandon, Grand Children Clara and Ada and nieces and nephews Mackenzie Prentice, Tyler Prentice, Lexie Rivard, Rachel Rivard, Casey Kealy, John Kealy, Alex Kealy, Jimmy Kealy, Courtney VandeVorde, Grant Dozeman, Brent Dozeman and Kendra Den-Uyl. Visitation Friday 3:30 pm 9:00 pm with scripture service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Saturday 12:00 noon at the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack at Vernier Road, Grosse Pointe Woods 48236.
