Life Story / Obituary

Print

Maxine began her life on April 27, 1920 in Knoxville, Iowa; the daughter of Ernest R. and Willamina (Crosby) Chrismore. Maxine lost her father while an infant and was raised by her mother and step-father, Daniel Webster Hostetler. Due to his contract work in construction engineering Maxine attended many schools in many states and graduated from Berrien Springs High School in Berrien Springs, Michigan in 1938. God brought her and Robert Douglas Addington together in Buchanan, Michigan and they were married on November 30, 1939 moving to Plainwell in 1943. God blessed their marriage with a daughter, Nancy Sue and a son Douglas Craig and gave them 59 years of constant loving togetherness.

Maxine was a joyous homemaker, completely devoted to the Lord and to her beloved husband and family. Years on their farm “Winds Whisper” were busy raising, training and showing purebred Arabian Horses.

A longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Plainwell, where as a family, they joined together in 1952. Many dear friends through the years and wonderful fellowship in Home Bible Studies, Sunday School, Worship Service and social activities.

Later years she was afflicted with macular degeneration and loss of central vision.

Her family includes her daughter and son in-law, Nancy Sue and Leo Moran; two grandchildren: Lisa and Tom Shannon , Mark Moran; 4 Great-grandchildren: Jonathon, Kathleen and Keegan Shannon, Marca Moran; and many nieces and nephews.

Maxine went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2017 joining her husband, Doug who went home December 27, 1998 and dear son, Craig, September 4, 1969.
