Constance M. Sharp, age 81, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Applewood of Brookfield.

Connie was born in Racine on September 25, 1935 to the late Ralph and Marie (Nee: Fischer) MacFarland. She was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1953”. After high school Connie took secretarial classes. On January 8, 1955 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Maurice Sharp, who preceded her in death on February 2, 1976.

Connie started her 34 year career at Gateway Technical College in Student Registration, where she was a very dedicated employee who rose up through the ranks to become the secretary for the Racine Campus administrator, a position that she held until her retirement in 2006. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Connie enjoyed watercolor painting, crocheting, knitting, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends and retirement groups. Connie will be remembered for her great love and devotion to her family.

Connie will be dearly missed by her children, Scott (Penny) Sharp of Union Grove, WI; Michelle (Ronald) Shanks of Sussex, WI; her four grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew, Morgan, and Colin; her three great-grandsons, Logan, Landon, and Lincoln; sister, Lucille (Marvin) Bohlman of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mildred (Stan) Gregory, Ruth (William) Kosterman, and Mary Lou (Dean) Winter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., on Saturday September 16, 2017, 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Joseph’s from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to the Charles A. Wustum Art Museum have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at Applewood of Brookfield for all of their loving and compassionate care.
