Klimp, Claude “Kork”

Kork Klimp, age 73, of Mendon went to be with the Lord after a long battle with COPD and heart disease on January 6, 2017. Kork was born on January 7, 1943 to Claus & Anna (Huizinga) Klimp. Visit with his family from 10:00 to 11:00 with a memorial service following at 11:00 on Wednesday, January 11 at the West Mendon United Methodist Church; 22994 Portage Lake Rd. Kork was preceded in death by his parents, son Todd and sister Arlene. He is survived by his wife Connie; two sons Scott and Matthew and two daughters Heather and Robin; siblings Robert Claude and Patricia Hite and 13 grandchildren. Kork served his country proudly in the Air Force during Vietnam. He was a member of the West Mendon UMC and the Disabled American Veterans. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at James River paper, Watervliet paper and Simpson Paper before his retirement from American Axle Corp. in 2009. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved to spend time with his family.
