Clarence passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1920 in Scottville, MI a son of Alanson "Lanti" and Anna (Berndt) Miller. Clarence entered the US Army in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. He returned to the Climax-Scotts area where he was a farmer and the owner of Miller Excavating Company. On June 26, 1948, Clarence married the former Maxine C. Stermer, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Dale (Teri) Miller of Scotts, Carole (Steve Cormier) Meier of Portage and Brenda (Rich Tessin) Brodhagen of Scotts; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Briggs of Portage; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7pm on Friday, September 21st at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street, where services will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 22nd. A reception will follow the service at the Scotts Community Center. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3pm in Gilson Cemetery.
