Christine Stevens

Stevens, Christine M. 1/10/1951 - 2/26/2021 Haines City, FL/Portage, MI Passed away peacefully Friday February 26, 2021 at home while holding her husband's hand. Christine was born January 10, 1951 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of George and Dorothy (Brown) Higgins. Christine graduated from Kalamazoo Central Highschool in 1969, then continued her education at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Western Michigan University. She used her education to become a System Analysis programmer. On January 26, 1983 in Kalamazoo Christine was united in marriage to Argyle Stevens who survives. Together they enjoyed traveling up north for the scenery, especially the lighthouses. Upon retirement they resided in Florida. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven, FL and enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and was an avid reader. Surviving are two children, Cathleen (John) Hoogenboom, Clifford (Junko) Bushman; two step-children, Diane (Tim) Etzkorn, Craig (April) Stevens; ten grandchildren; Matthew, Lydia, Mary, Julia, Christy, Samantha, Grace, Michael, Lauren, and Sean; two brothers, George (Clara) Higgins, Fred Higgins; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a Step-son, Todd Stevens; brother, Roger Higgins. Private family services will be held at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo. Interment will be in Portage South Cemetery.
