Charles Johnson

Charles Michael Johnson of Battle Creek, MI, age 46, died Tuesday morning, June 6, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo, MI, following a courageous battle with cancer and Multiple Sclerosis and with his loving family at his side. Charles, the son of James F. and Patricia F. (Kubicek) Johnson, was born in Lansing, MI on July 16, 1970 and he was a 1989 graduate of Gull Lake High School of Richland, MI. Charles had been employed in the automotive industry until he went on disability due to his illness. He was always present at Car Shows because he was extremely proud of his 1934 Ford Tudor and he always enjoyed a good drag race. Charles loved to attend Rock Concerts especially, Ozzie Osbourne, but his passion in life was his family. Surviving are his two loving daughters, Christian A. Sowle of Cedar Falls, IA and Ashley L. Johnson of Scotts, MI; his son, Chance K. Johnson of Battle Creek; his precious granddaughter, Annaleigha S. Johnson of Scotts; his sister, Julie (Stewart) Francke of Detroit, MI and his brother, Tom (Kimberly) Johnson of Troy, MI. Charles was preceded in death by his parents. The Memorial Gathering to celebrate Charles' life will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89). Final interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland with his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charles' honor may be directed to the family.
