Charles "Jack" Clemens of Kalamazoo, MI died July 10, 2017 at the age of 92. Jack was born November 11, 1924 in Kalamazoo to the late Charles and Hazel (Coulson) Clemens. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Carlson on July 16, 1949, who preceded him in death on November 22, 2012. Jack attended Westwood Church of God for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy from November of 1943 until honorably discharged in May of 1946. Jack worked for Michigan Bell for nearly 34 years as building maintenance manager until he retired in 1982. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the Michigan Bell Pioneer Club. He was a dedicated family man and devoted to his wife of 63 years. He was active in 4-H with his children over many years. Surviving are his children, Rick (Karen) Clemens of Kalamazoo, Gary (Trace) Clemens of Portage, Debbie (Michael) Miller of Kalamazoo, Sue (Michael Mansfield) Heldt of Kalamazoo and Laura Clemens of Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Jeannine Jones and Jerry Clemens; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding Jack in death was a grandchild, Ceegee Heldt, who was very special; and son-in-law, Doug Heldt. Family will greet friends on Thursday, July 13th from 10:00-11:00 at the Westwood Church of God/Grace Harbor, 811 Gorham Ln., Kalamazoo, where a funeral service will take place at 11:00. Following refreshments, burial will be at West Cooper Cemetery. Arrangements by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
