Charles Donald Struble Sr., 87, of Traverse City, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015.

He was born on April 30, 1928 in Traverse City, the son of Charles and Alice (Chichester) Struble.

Charles was a seaman second class in the United States Navy during World War II.

Charles was a journeyman millwright and later was maintenance supervisor with Burwood Products, serving for 40 years.

He enjoyed fishing, dancing, camping and country music festivals.

Charles is survived by his wife, Estella Struble; they were married on April 30, 1946; children, Linda (Greg) Smith of Interlochen, Brenda (William) Fagerman of Cadillac, Karen (John) Horner of Traverse City, Charles Donald Jr. (Tanya) Struble of Interlochen and Terry Struble of Melbourne Beach, Florida; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Raymond, Robert and Wayne Struble, Glenna Linderleaf and Donna Kent.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association.

An informal Celebration of Life luncheon will be held from noon to 4 p.m., on Friday, Aug. 21, at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Social Hall, 630 S.W. Silver Lake Road, near Grawn. A brief military honor ceremony will start at noon in the side parking lot. A private burial will be held in the future at Evergreen Cemetery, Kingsley.
