Charles L. "Chip" Saillor, 48, of Traverse City, passed away February 7, 2016 following a brief illness.

Chip was born February 15,1967 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Charles and Reva Saillor and grew up in Sandwich, Illinois where he attended schools.

Chip was self-employed and worked in the construction trade for the majority of his life.

As a child, his family made numerous trips to Traverse City to spend time at the family cabin on Spring Lake. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and driving through the woods exploring and enjoying all that nature had to offer. He was never seen without his 4-legged sidekick, Elsie. He also loved tinkering with his numerous motorcycles.

Chip was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Lillian Saillor and his maternal grandparents, Leon and Reva Rimkus.

In addition to his parents who reside in Bozeman, Montana, Chip is survived by his sister, Julie (John) Cummiskey and their son, Owen, of Zionsville, Indiana; his brother, Jason (Sherri) Saillor and their daughters, Kalynn and Jessica, of Oakdale, California; his good friend, Sandy Wright; and many friends and acquaintances.

A memorial service and celebration of Chip's life will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, June 18th at the main lodge at Ranch Rudolf, . Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
