Died May 6, 2006 at Borgess Nursing Home. Cecelia was born May 23, 1922 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Wilbur and Nora (Northrup) Dean and was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Cecelia was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she had served as President and the V.F.W. Auxiliary where she had also served as President and the D.A.V. Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Burr, Sr. on January 29, 2006; and by an infant daughter, Mary Lou Burr in 1956; and by two sisters, Rachael Nyland and Merlie Storteboom; and by two brothers, Omer and James Dean; Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Sharon Simpson of Kalamazoo, Catherine (John) Shell of Stanton, MI, Robert (Deanna) Burr of Kalamazoo, Pamela (Roy) VanDorsten of Marshall and Stanley (Jean) Burr, Jr. of Kalamazoo; 13 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 o'clock Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. with the Rev. David Sidwell officiating. Interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Cecelia's memory may be directed to the American Heart Association.
