Catherine Rodenhouse

Catherine “Chuckie” W. Rodenhouse of Grand Rapids, went into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on January 22, 2018. Catherine was born on June 4, 1921 to Nicholas and Hannah Rodenhouse. She attended and graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School and was a 1943 graduate of Calvin College. Chuckie combined her love of children and her education degree to teach first grade at Oakleigh School. Later Chuckie had a career change and was a legal secretary at Warner Norcross and Judd until she retired. Chuckie was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Phyllis Rodenhouse; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Rich Hoekstra and brother-in-law, Tom Grant. She is survived by her sister, Marian Grant; many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews and cousins. Her family would like to thank the staff at Raybrook-Cook Center for their loving and compassionate care for the past 6 years and the staff at Faith Hospice for the last few weeks of her life journey. The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 29th at 3:30 PM in the chapel of Raybrook Manor, 2121 Raybrook SE. Friends and family will gather for one hour prior to the service. Interment in Rosedale Memorial Park. Contributions in her memory may be made to Holland Home Residents Assistance Fund.
