Catherine Bender

Catherine A. Bender, age 72, passed away on Saturday February 3, 2018 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Catherine was born in Staffordshire, England on February 17, 1945, daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (nee: Marshall) Kaplan.

She was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. On September 23, 1963, Catherine was united in marriage to the love of her life, Nolan “Ben” Bender. Cathie was employed with Merchants Moving and Storage for twenty one years. She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Cathie will be remembered for her great love and devotion to her family.

Cathie will be dearly missed by her husband of fifty-four years, Ben; son, Jeffrey; daughter-in-law, Lisa Bender; grandsons, James Bender, Matthew (Michele) Dawson, Alex (Sarah) Bender; great grandchildren, Hayden, Houston and Jett; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Catherine was also preceded in death by her son, Brian Dean Bender; sisters-in-law, Judith Mecun and Barbara Bender; and granddaughter, Amanda Victoria Bender.

A memorial service will be held at a future date.
