Caroline Smith

Carolyn Lee Smith, age 73, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away July 1, 2017. Carolyn was born in Kalamazoo on March 20, 1944, the daughter of the late Lee and Thelma (Sherman) Keaton. She is survived by her sons, Randy (Amy) Blankenship and Richard Mischen; four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and brothers, Lee Keaton, Michael (Vicky) Keaton and Arlis (Cindy)Fleshman, Jr. Carolyn raised her autistic grandson, Tyler and devoted much of her life to him. She enjoyed reading and both she and Tyler were active volunteers with Kalamazoo United Way and Habitat for Humanity. Carolyn worked for International Paper for 15 years, LSI/Kala for nine years and retired from Mead Products. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled.
