Carol L. Spang passed away on Friday June 15, 2018 at the age of 75. Carol was born in Franksville, WI on April 18, 1943 to Arvid and Mary (nee: Edwards) Nelson. After graduating from Wm. Horlick High School in 1961, Carol started a career at The Bank of Franksville, now US Bank, as a teller, working her way through the ranks to become a personal banker and eventually a branch manager until the time of her retirement in 2005.

On September 2, 1967, Carol was united in marriage to her childhood friend, Alan F. Spang. They were married 47 colorful years until Alan preceded her in death on May 2, 2014. Carol was an active member of the Franksville Methodist Church. For many years she volunteered for Vacation Bible School and the annual Turkey Supper. Carol loved people, preserving their history and memories were important to her. She spent countless hours working on genealogy and scrapbooking in efforts to leave behind a legacy of memories that her family could cherish. Carol valued her time with friends and family. After retirement Carol and Alan created special moments with many of them at their vacation home in Nekoosa, Wisconsin. Carol often referred to this time has the best years of her life. Carol was a dear friend to all and will be remembered for her positive attitude and one of a kind, cackling laugh.

Carol will be dearly missed by her daughters, Carrie (Juan) Avalos, Christine Spang, Carin (Ryan) Keland; grandchildren, Lucas and Grace Bladzik, Alana Spang, Benjamin and Isabel Keland; sister, Joyce (Mike) Tapley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Cheryl Nelson, Richard (Gail) Spang, Judy Spang; half siblings, Debbie (Brian) Watkins, Sue Tardif, Mark Nelson, Tim (Wendy) Nelson; nieces, nephews, other countless friends. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Alan, granddaughter, Olivia Bladzik; mother, Mary Cliff; father, Arvid Nelson, stepfather Melvin Cliff, brother, David Nelson; brother-in-law, Robert Spang.

Funeral services will be held at Faithbridge Church, 10402 Northwestern Ave, Franksville, on Friday June 22, 2018, 11:00 a.m., with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family visitation at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
