Carl "John" Svec Sr.

Carl "John" Svec, Sr., aged 64, of Wyoming, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jelaine; mother, Katie Salik; children, Carl Svec Jr., Michael and Jenny Svec, Rodney and Lindsi Holmes; sisters and brother, Gladys Holmes, Sharon and Mike Lewis, Gary and Kelly Salik; grandchildren, Elise, Taylor, Ryan Victoria, and Martina; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, He loved his pet, Princess and his 1962 Thunderbird. Also surviving is his special aunt, Dawn Snyder, who assisted in shaping Carl's life along with her husband, John, who has preceded him in death. A funeral service for Carl will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave., Kentwood with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and also on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
