Age 67, of Michigan Center, passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, December 26, 2017. He was born in Kalamazoo to Roy and Dorothy Chenery who preceded him in death. Bruce is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joene; daughter, Alicia (Mark) Koss of Jackson; grandchildren, Leahanna Koss and Mark Koss Jr.; brothers, David (Phyllis) Chenery of Portage and Mark (Julie) Chenery of Vicksburg; nieces, nephews and friends. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era. Bruce was a retiree of Consumers Energy gas services and prior to that worked many years driving semi for Complete Auto Transit and delivery for Holsum Bread. He was a member of the American Legion Richard Smith Post #29. Bruce enjoyed camping and seeing all of the United States, hunting, boating and fishing. His greatest love and enjoyment was time spent with his two grandbabies. Cremation has taken place and a time of visitation and remembrance will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 4250 Page Avenue, Michigan Center, MI 49254 on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the church on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Ryan Prondzinski officiating, visiting hour beginning at 10 am. Military honors will be provided by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Interment will follow in the spring at Fort Custer National Cemetery. For those who wish, contributions in Bruce's memory to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
