Beverly Meyers

Beverly Ann Meyers, age 81, of Portage, MI went home to be with her Lord on January 3, 2018. Beverly was born September 8, 1936 in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of Arnold and Edith (VanWyk) Ballast. For many years, she was employed with LaSalle Bank and retired as Bank Manager. Beverly was currently a member of Southridge Reformed Church and formerly of Haven Reformed Church. She enjoyed gardening, art, music (both playing and teaching piano and flute), participating in BSF and volunteering with Loaves & Fishes. The most important part of her life was her family. On December 2, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harvard P. Meyers, who preceded her in death on January 4, 1981. Surviving are her children Kimberly Meyers, Michelle (David) Dart, Kenneth (Carol) Meyers, Diane (Todd) Duran; grandchildren Kate Petty, Michael Petty, Jessica Duran, Zachary Duran; brothers Rodney (Joyce) Ballast, Daniel (Linda) Ballast, Leon (Paula) Ballast, Clifton (Kathy) Ballast, Bruce (Patricia) Ballast, Michael (Caroline) Ballast, Jeffrey (Susan) Ballast; sister-in-law Andrea Grace; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM on Saturday, January 6th at Southridge Reformed Church (6726 Texas Drive), where a service to celebrate Beverly's life will begin at 11:00AM Saturday. Interment will be in East Cooper Cemetery. Memorials in Beverly's memory may be directed to Southridge Reformed Church Mission Fund; or to Rose Arbor Hospice.
