Beverly Jeannine Hunt

Beverly Hunt, 86, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 7, 1929 in DesMoines, Iowa. Her family moved to California when she was a teen and that is where she met Donald Hunt, whom she married on October 3, 1948. Together they had three children, Gregory, Marney and Brian Hunt.

Beverly was a stay at home mom who raised her children before entering the work force. They moved from LosAngeles to Escondido, California in the early 70s where she worked for the phone company and held other office positions until 1990 when they moved to Michigan to be closer to family.

She went to work for Prevos at Chum's Corners for several years before moving on. A quick stint at Ben Franklin followed and then she went to work for Kohl's until she retired in 2011. Beverly had a passion for gardening, quilting, and antiquing. She loved to work in her yard and her gardens were beautiful. Her home was filled with treasures that she and Don collected over the years. Beverly had a zest for life and her enthusiasm was contagious. Family and friends will always remember her energy, bright smile, and boisterous laugh.

Beverly is survived by her children; Marney (Ed) and Brian, grandchildren; Justin (Jeni) Roy, Heather Roy, Jeremy Hunt, Megan (Eric) Neizgoda, Erin (Matt) Lord, Chase Hunt, and Ashley Hunt, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Betty Schrodt; a niece and nephew and daughter-in-law, Lorijean Hunt.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Gregory.

Memorial Services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. The family will greet friends starting at 11am. Please visit www.lifestorytc.com to sign the guest book, share a message and more.
