Bernadette Tofari

Bernadette Tofari, age 93, of Kankakee, IL. passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Kankakee, IL. She was born on May 6, 1918 in Kankakee, IL. the daughter of Clarence and Jessie Palzer. On December 28, 1940 Bernadette married P. Alex Tofari. She is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bradley, IL., enjoyed puzzles, watching soap operas, playing bingo, but most of all loved children, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great- granddaughter. Bernadette is survived by her children; Janice (Ed) Carney of Bourbonnais, Dennis Tofari, of Gilman, IL., Cheryl (Walter) Maxwell of Lake Village, IN., Theresa Doss of Bourbonnais, IL., Rick (Edna) Tofari of Riverton, IL., and Paul Tofari of Hoopston, IL., 17 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband P. Alex Tofari, her parents Clarence and Jessie Palzer, a daughter Janet Marie Tofari, son-in-law Carl Michael Doss, daughter-in-law Barbara Tofari, several brothers and sisters, and two great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 9am-12pm at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Kankakee Chapel.

Funeral service will take place on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 12pm at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Kankakee Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the families wishes would be appreciated.
