Barry Dean Ballinger, 63, of Kalamazoo, passed away suddenly on March 31st, 2018, in Kalamazoo with his daughter by his side. Barry was born in Paw Paw, Michigan to Max and Katherine Ballinger on May 18th, 1954. He attended Davenport College in Kalamazoo and graduated with an Associates in Accounting. He was active in basketball from elementary age through the entirety of his life, as a player and a coach. He was a devote man of faith and provided guidance through relationships, community groups, and gatherings. He was an avid lover of music, with a collection of CDs, tapes, 8-tracks, and records. Sharing his music collection with friends and family brought joy to his life. He was a lifelong traveler from missions, barbeque festivals, and car shows throughout the states. Barry is preceded in death by Max and Katherine Ballinger (parents'), Terry Ballinger (brother), and joined with sons' John David and Jordan Ballinger. Barry is survived by daughters Danielle Ballinger, Heather Hulbert, Kathryn Ballinger, and Kalani Ballinger, as well as, a multitude of pseudo-children. Grandchildren, Deidrich and Delilah Ballinger-Ranney; brother Jerry Ballinger along with wife Sue, nephews and niece, Eric, Jennifer, Mitchell, and Josh. He is also survived by his lifelong friends Tony Gillies and Paul "Moe" Pritchett. A celebration of his life will be at 11am Saturday, April 7th, 2018. The service will be held at Freshwater Community Church in Paw Paw, Michigan with Jason Bull officiating followed by a reception. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
