Barbara Peterson

Passed away Tuesday March 28, 2017 at American House-Kentwood. Barbara was born February 28, 1934 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Clifton and Florence (Vanderswag) Merrell. She worked at the Michigan Inspection Bureau and worked in the Parchment High School cafeteria then she retired from Gilmores Dept. Store in the Audit Dept. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ, sewing, reading collecting music and Bambi items. On Sept. 3, 1955 in Kalamazoo Barbara was united in marriage to Robert Peterson who survives. Also surviving are her two children, Timothy (Cheryl) Peterson of Grand Rapids; Crystal (Brian) Fenrich of Milan; four grandchildren, Andrea & Sarah Peterson, Christopher and Brittany Fenrich; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Rynbrand. Friends will be received 11am-1pm & 6-8 pm Friday March 31, 2017 at Redmond Funeral Home, Kalamazoo where services will be held 10 am Saturday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
