Barbara "Barbie" Jane Kehoe, age 60, of SedroWoolley, Washington, died on Thursday, September 28th after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. Barbie was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, fourth of the nine Kehoe children. She went to St. Augustine Elementary and Kalamazoo Hackett schools, graduating in 1975. Barbie was a born nurturer, raising her own children, as well as providing loving childcare for multitudes of children over more than forty years. In addition to her vocation of caring for children, she was very active in promoting healthy lifestyles for friends and family, with her work at the Skagit Valley Food Co-op and her own "TurtleSpace" website. She and her children also worked with the Boys and Girls Club of Skagit Valley. Barbie was a major part of the Community Kitchen. Barbie will be joining several family members in heaven: her father, John "Jack" Kehoe, her nephew Alexander Kehoe, and her sister-in-law, Laura (Brodhagen) Kehoe. She is survived by her wonderful and beloved daughters, Sarah (Eric) Strand, Mariah Kehoe-Anderson, Heather Roberts and Nicole (Eli) Hernandez, her grandchildren, Emmersen, Austen, Masen, Prudence, Enslie, Jamesen and Ava, as well as her eight siblings, Irene (Ken) Walela, Philip (Bernie) Kehoe, Ellen Kehoe, Donald (Lynda) Kehoe, Stephen (Linda) Kehoe, Paul (Nicole) Kehoe, and Edward (Lori) Kehoe, and her mother, Margaret Kehoe A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas More's Catholic Church in Kalamazoo on October 20th at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Royal Family Kids Camp, a program for foster children, c/o Hillcrest Chapel, 1400 Larrabee Ave, Bellingham, Washington, 98225.
