Art White Sr., age 84, went home to heaven on May 17th, 2019, in Springfield, MO. Art is survived by the love of his life, for almost 60 years, Margaret "George" White. Art and Margaret were married on October 3rd, 1959 in Kalamazoo, MI. These two love birds shared countless laughs, adventures, an immense love for their family and friends, and a bond of enduring love for each other. Arthur F. White Sr. was born on May 19th, 1934 in Kalamazoo, MI, to parents Arthur Clarence Franklin White and Dorothy White. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, MI. Art joined the army in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. Art was stationed in Hawaii, serving as a medic. Art was a business owner in Richland, MI from 1959 to 1999. Additionally, Art served as a Rotarian Member, Mayor of Richland in 1971 and "Mr. Fix-it" everywhere he went. In his younger days, Art was an avid golfer and fastpitch softball player. When retiring to Branson, MO with Margaret in 1999, he became a devoted golf ball rescuer. During his time in Branson, Art was a walking advertisement for Branson, whether it was for the American Kids, the College of the Ozarks basketball or merely sharing the pure joy of exploring Branson. Art was known throughout Branson as "the social photographer" and Mr. Fix-it! From the moment that the Gabriel Family saw Art's dedication and work ethic, they knew they needed him to be apart of their show. For about 10 years Art worked with the Doug Gabriel Show where he worked wherever he was needed. Art was a hard-working man that never let anything stop him. If Art wasn't kissing on the girls, he enjoyed others rubbing his bald head for "good luck." Art and Margaret developed a close bond with Christ and members of the Branson Gospel Sunday with Dave Hamner Church in Branson. Art was loved by many, especially his family that cherishes every sweet and joking moment even when he was asking, "Do you have a clergy discount?". Art was a family man, social butterfly and loving husband, father, and gramps that will be dearly missed. Art White Sr. is survived by his two sons Art White Jr. (Cheryl White) and Tim White of Kalamazoo, MI; his granddaughters Chelsey Lofquist (Spencer Lofquist) of Holland, MI and Kristina White (Kyle McPherson) of Auburn Hills, MI; sister Maxine Hurst (Ed Hurst), Betty Gerard; brother Bob White (Nancy White) and multiple nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Clarence Franklin White; mother, Dorothy E. White; sisters Beatrice Stamm, Vivian Barinka, and Margie Wright (Richard Wright). A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday May 30 at Gracespring Bible Church in Richland, Michigan beginning at 10:30 AM with a luncheon immediately following. A Committal service and presentation of Military Honors is scheduled for 1:00-1:20 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Arthur F. White Sr.'s life. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words, loving hugs and prayers. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
