Age 92, passed away at home on Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was born on October 11, 1926 in Port Huron, MI, the son of the late Arthur Menno Mann Sr. and Alma (Hill) Mann. He was a graduate of Port Huron High School, Port Huron Junior College and the University of Michigan where he received an AB degree in Math and Physics. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp and served during the Second World War. He worked for many years for the New York Life Insurance Co. as an agent and manager. After retiring, he taught math and business at Baker College and later at Davenport College. Art loved to travel, especially to the Upper Peninsula and around Lake Superior. He loved boating and took many boat cruises. He always loved games such as bridge, chess and other board games. Most of all he loved his family. Art married Helen Mann and they raised two sons, Arthur Menno Mann III and David Douglas Mann. Art was preceded in death by Helen and Arthur M. Mann III. He married Carolyn Baker (Wisner) Mann and became step-father to her children, Barbara BakerOmerod, Jeffery Omerod, Wilte and Shannon Baker. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018, beginning at 1:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 12:00 PM, one hour prior to the service.
