Angeline Knehr, age 95, passed away at The Villa on Saturday, March 18, 2017. She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on December 17, 1921, the daughter of the late Adolph and Rose (Rubenzer) Sarauer and has lived in Racine since 1956.

On August 17, 1963 at Grace Lutheran Church in Racine she was united in marriage to Arthur Knehr. They shared nearly fifty years together before Art preceded her in death, January 22, 2013. Angeline was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, cake decorating and candy making – her specialty was Angel Food Candy at Christmas time. A den mother for her son David, Angeline also played Santa for 50 years for her children, grandchildren and others. She loved to travel and took advantage of many trips as a member of the Johnson Wax Retirees. She was also a member of Circle Eight Square Dance since 1971 and County Line dancers. Angeline retired from S.C. Johnson in 1987 and continued to do volunteer work at the JMBA Center.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters Carol Seeger and Sharon (Tom) Mucklin and sons, Steven (Ruthann) Zwiefelhofer, Allen (Gayle) Zwiefelhofer and David Knehr. Also grandchildren Kim (Chris) Strom, Jill (Mike) Heise, Mark Mucklin, Ryan Seeger, Sara (Blake) Suhar, Mike (Monica) Zwiefelhofer, Rebecca Zwiefelhofer, Katie Zwiefelhofer and great grandsons Michael Zwiefelhofer and Eli McRae. She is further survived by her sister Evelyn Casselman, brother Kenneth Sarauer, and sister-in-law Phyllis (Emil) Sarauer, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by her brothers Edward (Delores) Sarauer, Emil (Phyllis) Sarauer, and Earl (Donna) Sarauer, and her sisters, Marie Kolmer and Dorothy VanLanen.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 27, 2017, 11:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2065 Geneva Street, with Rev. Stephen Jennings officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and Monday at the church from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:30 A.M. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at both Becker-Shoop and Lincoln villas for all of their loving and compassionate care.
