Allan Garlick

Allan G. Portage Passed away Sunday evening, November 28, 2021. Allan was born June 30, 1931 in Portage the son of Gardner and Beatrice (Schau) Garlick. Allan earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Western Michigan University. He worked at Portage Public schools from high school (starting as a janitor) and working his way to Director of Elementary Education until his retirement. Allan enjoyed playing golf, and loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. On July 12, 1952 Allan was united in marriage to his loving wife of 69 years, Bonnie (Zylman), who survives. Also surviving are his children Kim (Brad), Kris (Sheryl), Vicki, Cathy, Rick (Sharon); 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, 1 sister; and several nieces and nephews.
