Alfred Edwards

Alfred passed away Thursday evening, November 8, 2018 at his home. He was born December 6, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late James and Carrie (Gazen) Edwards. Alfred proudly served in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1943-46; and for many years he was employed as an Optician. On February 4, 1951, he was united in marriage to Harriet (Kershenbaum) Edwards, who preceded him in death on April 23, 2010. Surviving are his three daughters, Barbara (Bruce) Patrick, Lyn Edwards, Carrie (Jim Welsh) Edwards-Welsh; six grandchildren, Scott Patrick, Allison Patrick, Jenni Covert, Eric Welsh, Joshua (Ellie) Welsh, and Sarah Welsh; two great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and William Welsh. Funeral services for Alfred will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 12th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Rabbi Harvey Spivak officiating. Interment will follow in Jewish Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Reverence Hospice.
