Agnes Bennink

Bennink, Agnes 2/8/1919 - 4/22/2022 Kalamazoo, MI Passed away peacefully on April 22, 2022, at Park Village Pines. Agnes was born March 8, 1919, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Melchert "Melvin" and Agnes (Buckhout) Veld and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She retired as the Manager of the Kalamazoo Postal Federal Credit Union. Agnes was a charter member of Greenwood Reformed Church where she served with the Women's Guild and organized a monthly luncheon for persons 60 and older. On May 8, 1940, she was united in marriage to her loving husband John Bennink who preceded her in death on October 30, 2012. Surviving are her children, Richard (Leslie) Bennink of Mattawan, Philip (Penny) Bennink of North Carolina, Jeanne (George) Robinson of North Carolina, and Barbara (Leonard) Lebowitz of Paw Paw; seven grandchildren: Lynnae (Tim) Ryan, Melissa (John) VanderZyden-Preston, Angie (Matt) Johnson, Shannon (Chris) Graham, Neil (Jenny) Bennink, Todd (Kimber) Robinson, Scott (Rachel) Robinson, 15 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Betty Bennink of Holland; sisters-in-law Helen Plummer and Nancy Meyers. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Isaac VanderZyden; brothers Herman Veld, Garrett Veld, Fred Veld and Melvin Veld and sister Ann (Veld) Hiscock. Private burial has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 7, 2022, at 1:00 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo MI 49009, with refreshments following.
