Obituary
FAHNER - A. Vivian Fahner, born January 15, 1925 to Bonnie (Stryker) and Harold Skeoch in Coral, MI, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Clark Retirement Community in Grand Rapids. Vivian lived for many years in the Howard City area with her husband of 48 years, Byron C. Fahner, who passed away in 1997. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and volunteer, she will be missed by her children, Marti and Chip King of Ada and Phoenix, AZ, and Jim and Gail Fahner of Grand Rapids; her granddaughters, Michelle King of Phoenix, and Therese and Jill Fahner, both of East Lansing; her sister, Donna and Elwyn Stone of Sandusky, MI; sisters-in-law, Gladys and Rev. Clyde Galow, and Marilyn Fahner, as well as many special cousins, nieces and nephews, and many great friends at Clark, at First United Methodist and Trinity United Methodist churches, and in the Sallie Bender Guild of Spectrum Health Butterworth. Cremation has taken place as she requested, and the family will be planning a Memorial Service at a future date. Vivian's family wishes to thank Dr. Jeeva Subramanian and Dr. Kathleen Yost and their staffs, and the staff at Spectrum Butterworth, Clark Retirement Community and Hospice of Michigan for their devoted care. In lieu of flowers, Vivian would have been touched by memorial tributes to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Foundation, Hospice of Michigan, or the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan.
